Day 1
Arrival at Ben Gurion Airport and transfer to your hotel in Jerusalem.
Day 2
Begin your day with an optional tour of the Dome of the Rock and Al-Aqsa Mosque (additional fee) or at the David Center for an in-depth study of Old Testament Archaeology including First and Second Temple Period structures. Next you will spend time at the Western Wall followed by a tour of the Western Wall Tunnels. After enjoying a traditional Middle Eastern lunch, you will enjoy a walk through the Jewish Quarter of Old City Jerusalem including ancient Cardo and the Herodian Quarter Museum Tour.
Day 3
Greet the morning with a scenic drive through the beauty of the Judean Desert on your way to Qumran, site of the Dead Sea Scroll discovery. After exploring the area, a short drive to Qasr El Yahud will bring you to the baptism site of Jesus and the location where the Israelites crossed the Jordan. (Baptism opportunities available at site). Lunch is served on a mountaintop overlooking Jericho and Temptation Mountain. Then relax and enjoy an afternoon at the Dead Sea. Shopping opportunities are available.
Day 4
A lovely drive south into the Negev Desert will bring you to Beer Sheva, the site of Abraham’s Well and covenant. After enjoying a traditional Bedouin lunch, the afternoon is spent visiting Tel Arad, an ancient Canaanite city and ancient synagogue.
Day 5
An excursion to Shilo, the site where the Ark of the Covenant was held for 396 years begins today’s adventure. Then a quick drive over to Mt Gerizim for spectacular views of Nablus. After a Middle Eastern lunch in Nablus, the afternoon is spent exploring this iconic old city.
Day 6
Today’s tours of historically and biblically significant sites starts with transportation to World Heritage site Bet Guvrin, a rich preservation of ancient life during biblical times. Experience Tel Ezekiel, the battle site between David and Goliath. Lunch will be in the historic city of Hebron followed by visits to Abraham, Sarah, and Isaac’s tombs. An afternoon of shopping in Hebron completes this delightful day.
Day 7
The last day of your Old Testament tour begins at Majiddo (also known as the Valley of Armageddon). Before having a traditional Druze lunch, you will visit Al Maharaka, the site of Elisha’s contest on Mt Carmel. After lunch, views from Mt Galboa and Jezreel Valley highlight your afternoon. Your day ends with a beautiful scenic drive back to Jerusalem through the Jordan Valley.
Day 8
Depart for airport and return home.
